Tipped as one of Joe Bonamassa’s “favourite discoveries this year” the future is looking incredibly bright for this young up and coming band. Brave Rival are a band on a meteoric rise. Their unique combination of beautifully harmonic, soulful vocals, epic guitar solos, pounding drums and powerful bass serves up an infectious sound that is not to be missed.
Their debut album was released in 2022 when they supported Elles Bailey, Dom Martin, and Laurence Jones. They began 2023 with 5 nominations in the UK Blues Awards, including Blues Band of the Year, Acoustic Act of the Year, Blues Vocalist of the Year (Lindsey and Chloe) , Instrumentalist of the Year (Donna and Ed) , and Young Blues Artist of the Tear (Ed).
Drawing from a rich, musical, and cultural background it is hardly surprising that Sunjay has quickly become recognised as one of the UK’s rising stars. His performances have been described as “mature and confident,” while his guitar playing has been hailed as, “superb, brilliant, experienced, intricate amd faultless.” Sunjay’s style has that natural drift between folk and blues. Sunjay has been nominated for many awards. He won the Wath Festival Young Performers Award. He also made the final selection for the BBC’s Young Folk Award in 2012, had three nominations at the Exposure Music Awards 2014, and was nominated for Emerging Blues Artist of the Year at the 2014 British Blues Awards.
